OUR Impact
11 years of success
Since its foundation in 2013, Martha's Dream has been collecting funds incessantly, initially supporting educational initiatives in Nigeria.
In 2017, Martha's Dream Academy, our own charity school in Nigeria, opened its doors to the first 20 students.
To date, we give free education to around 200 pupils yearly who would have never accessed a school otherwise.
Why support us
Without us, children would face a life trapped in poverty
We work in Biafra, a region devastated by war, where half of the population never has the chance to step foot in a classroom. Where we operate, there are no schools, and even if there were, families couldn’t afford the fees. Many are forced to send their children to work at a young age just to survive. But no child should ever be denied the chance to dream, to learn, to break free from this cycle. We believe education is the key to unlocking their future.
We are a refuge for minorities in Nigeria
We are the only school with a zero-discrimination policy. Our reputation has spread beyond the local community, with families crossing state lines to bring their children to Martha’s Dream Academy. Here, they find a safe space where they are free from discrimination and fully supported—whether they are albino like Inyang or living with disabilities like Desmond. (Read their stories below.) Every child deserves a chance to thrive, and we are here to make that dream a reality.
We give 100% of funds to the school
Unlike other organisations, our work is 100% voluntary, with the totality of the funds you donate going to support Martha's Dream Academy.
Our dream does not stop
Going from 20 to 200 pupils in 7 years was a success, but we do not stop here. Our mission is to bring free primary and secondary education to all children in Ekenobizi and beyond, until they "will suffer no more", in the words of Martha Okoro, the lady inspiring our charity.
Our long-term vision is to create a self-sustaining project in Ekenobizi. Along with providing free education to primary school children, we hope to build both a primary and secondary school, introduce adult education programs, and offer the local community valuable skills in sustainable agriculture (the main employment in the area) and business literacy.

Mark was found chained outside his house by our founders when he was just 8 years old. He was accused of whitchcraft after the death of his mother. He was freed by our volunteers but forever wounded due to ignorance stemming form the lack of education.
We work so this story never repeats.

Inyang
Inyang is an albino child who was brought to our school in 2019 by her father, who travelled from another Nigerian State desperate to find a place where she would not be discriminated. He heard about us on a newspaper.
Inyang has since been happily integrated in her class and received from us education and medical support.
We work to provide all children equal opportunities.

Desmond
Desmond has Down's Syndrome and orphan of father. His family could not find a facility that would cater his needs, and took him to Martha's Dream academy. Since 2018 he is being supported and has made huge progress.
We work so children like Desmond can achieve their dreams.

Martha's Dream is a recognides charity (Ente del Terzo Settore) in Italy.
